Pour everything with hot boiled water and place in an oven heated to a temperature of 180 ° C for 50 minutes.

To prepare a delicious porridge, take:

  • milk - ½ liter
  • barley groats - 100 g,
  • pumpkin - 200 g
  • dried apricots - 100 g,
  • butter - 20-30 g,
  • water - 300 ml
  • salt, sugar - to taste.

Pour the peeled and cut into small pieces water, add a little sugar and cook until soft. Pour pumpkin with barley grits, pour milk, and simmer until cooked. Add butter, chopped dried apricots to the finished dish. Wrap the bowl with porridge and let it brew for 20-30 minutes.

For soup you will need:

  • meat on the bone (pork or beef) - 600-700 g,
  • water - 2 l
  • potatoes -2 pcs.,
  • carrots - 1 pc.,
  • onion - 1 pc.,
  • butter - 30 g,
  • barley groats - 80 g,
  • salt to taste
  • greens.

Cook the broth from the prepared meat. The cooked meat is taken out, separated from the bones, cut and laid in a pan. Diced potatoes are placed in the prepared broth and brought to a boil. The prepared cell is laid in a pan and boiled until tender.

Vegetables are cut, fried in butter and laid in soup. The dish is salted, boiled for another 3-4 minutes. Before serving, sprinkle the soup with fresh herbs.

Today barley groats are undeservedly losing popularity. But a cheap, healthy box, with proper preparation, can become the main decoration of even a festive table.

How to cook barley porridge?

Barley porridge, depending on preferences, can be cooked in different ways. Some people like the viscous texture of the dish, others prefer a more delicate, semi-fluid texture. Therefore, it is important to correctly observe the proportions of cereals and liquids, so that the porridge is exactly what you like.

The ratio of cereals and liquids:

  1. For crumbly porridge, 1 cup of cereal take 2.5 cups of water or milk,
  2. For viscous - 3 glasses,
  3. For semi-liquid - 4 glasses.

Barley porridge on the water

The required amount of water is poured into a pan with a thick bottom, brought to a boil, salt is added, and pre-washed barley groats are poured. If the porridge goes to the side dish, chopped carrots and onions can be added if desired. Next, the porridge is cooked on low heat until cooked.

  1. If you like friable porridge, it is enough to boil the barley groats for 15 minutes, then close the pan with a lid, wrap it with a towel and leave for half an hour, so that the porridge is further steamed.
  2. To get a viscous consistency, cook the porridge for longer - 25-30 minutes, not forgetting to stir occasionally.
  3. At the final stage of cooking, you can add butter and finely chopped greens to the porridge.

Barley porridge in milk

Porridge with milk is more tender and pleasant to taste. This dish can be prepared for breakfast, children really like it. If the porridge is sweetened, add jam, honey, dried fruits or berries - it will be an excellent option for the children's menu. Cooking barley porridge in milk is slightly different from cooking cereals in water.

In order to get a tender and tasty porridge, the required amount of cereal should be washed and soaked in cold water in the evening. In the morning, pour 2 cups of water into a saucepan, bring it to a boil, pour 1 cup of cereal, boil for 5 minutes to evaporate the liquid.

Then sugar, salt are added to taste and 2 to 3 glasses of milk are poured. The porridge is simmered over low heat for another 10-15 minutes, until the croup is completely broken. Do not forget to stir the porridge so that it does not burn. As soon as the cereal is soft, the porridge is ready.

Close the pan with a lid, let the dish stand for 10 minutes and serve.

From barley groats you can cook another very tasty and healthy dish - cereal. You will need 1 liter of milk.

It is heated in a saucepan to a boil, salted, sugar is added to taste, and 100 g of barley groats are poured into a thin stream. The mixture is boiled over low heat until thickened, stirring continuously.

When the porridge is ready, you need to add a piece of butter, close the lid and leave it to cool completely.

Next, in a cooled porridge you need to beat 3 chicken eggs, add 150 g of crushed almonds or walnuts and put in a baking dish. The mold must be lubricated in advance with oil and sprinkled with ground breadcrumbs.

The cereal mass should be leveled, greased with beaten egg white on top and sent to a hot oven. As soon as the top turns red, the groats are ready.

It is taken out of the oven, cut into portions and served with sweet sauce or sour cream.
